Charlottenburg Palace - Festival of Lights

Charlottenburg Palace with its baroque facade is an impressive backdrop for unique 3D- video art in every festival. This year there are three of these shows to be seen.

Our partner TURISMO DE TENERIFE opened up the extraordinary charm of the island of Tenerife to the audience with a beautiful 3D video show. The Spanish island has 43 nature reserves that cover almost half of the land area. Impressive volcanic landscapes, beaches in different colours, whales and dolphins in protected areas – the island DNA is incredibly diverse. With the illumination, Turismo of Tenerife created visual stimuli that immediately evoked emotions and made people want to travel to this beautiful island.

As part of the „FoL Future Vision Awards“, international light artists presented their visions of a new tomorrow in line with the festival motto „Creating Tomorrow“.

Charlottenburg Palace was another venue for the „Future Vision Award“ presented by the Festival of Lights together with the presenting sponsor „Climate Pledge“. In line with the festival motto „Creating Tomorrow“, the artist teams momap, RE:SORB and Clockwork wove their visions of a new tomorrow into impressive video mappings.

In addition to the „Future Vision Award“, Charlottenburg Palace presented another special highlight. The most beautiful pictures from the children’s poster competition „Protect the environment, it is our future“, which was organised by the wirBERLIN initiative, were on display. Congratulations to all the little artists!

At Charlottenburg Palace, visitors were taken on a journey into the molecular depths of nature and its fascinating questions. From the microscopic to the vastness of the cosmos, the mysteries of the connection and origin of things are illuminated. The team of artists behind the impressive 3D projection is RE:SORB from Berlin. Their speciality is creating immersive experiential spaces that create unforgettable and transformative memories.

In 2020, the festival team together with E.ON invited winners of past FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS competitions to present their visions of this year’s motto „Together we shine“ on the imposing facade of Charlottenburg Palace. Three teams of artists from three countries will show their interpretation of cohesion, solidarity and unity. The chosen ones? Tina Zimmermann from Berlin, Clockwork from Poland and MP Studio from Bulgaria.

Unser Partner TURISMO DE TENERIFE erschloss den Zuschauenden mit einer wunderschönen 3D-Videoshow den außergewöhnlichen Charme der Insel Teneriffa. Denn die spanische Insel hat 43 Naturschutzgebiete, die fast die Hälfte der Landfläche einnehmen. Beeindruckende Vulkanlandschaften, Strände in unterschiedlichen Farben, Wale und Delfine in geschützten Gebieten – die Insel DNA ist unglaublich breit gefächert. Mit der Illumination schaffte die Turismo of Tenerife optische Reize, die sofort Emotionen hervorriefen und Lust auf eine Reise auf diese wunderschöne Insel machten.

Das Schloss Charlottenburg zeigte neben dem „Future Vision Award“ ein weiteres besonderes Highlight. Gezeigt wurden die schönsten Bilder aus dem Kinderplakatwettbewerb „Schützt die Umwelt, sie ist unsere Zukunft“, diesen lobte die Initiative wirBERLIN aus. Wir gratulieren allen kleinen Künstler*innen!

Am Schloss Charlottenburg wurden die Besucher*innen auf eine Reise in die molekularen Tiefen der Natur und ihre faszinierenden Fragen entführt. Vom mikroskopischen Kleinen bis hoch in die Weiten des Kosmos werden die Mysterien nach dem Zusammenhang und Ursprung der Dinge beleuchtet. Das Künstlerteam hinter der beeindruckenden 3D-Projektion ist RE:SORB aus Berlin. Ihre Spezialität liegt im Erschaffen von immersiven Erfahrungsräumen, die unvergessliche wie transformative Erinnerungen bewirken.

Im Jahr 2020 hat das Festivalteam zusammen mit E.ON Sieger*innen vergangener FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS Wettbewerbe eingeladen, auf der imposanten Fassade des Schloss Charlottenburg ihre Visionen des diesjährigen Mottos „Together we shine“ zu präsentieren. Drei Künstlerteams aus drei Ländern zeigen ihre Interpretation von Zusammenhalt, Solidarität und Einheit. Die Auserwählten? Tina Zimmermann aus Berlin, Clockwork aus Polen und MP Studio aus Bulgarien.
