Potsdamer Platz is an urban centre for Berlin’s dynamic community. A place full of positive energy in harmony with global and local cultural developments. The festival featured a total of 11 light art productions on the theme of „Urban Nature“. Five-metre-high PEONEYs with delicate, colourful plays of light, FLORAISONs, artistic poppies or trees illuminated in the style of the Indian summer.

„Creating Tomorrow“ was the overall motto of all the installations at Quartier Potsdamer Platz, emblazoned in large letters across the square. The installations stretched from Hauptplatz to Alte Potsdamer Straße, Marlene-Dietrich-Platz and Pianosee.

On the opening weekend of 2021, the light giant DUNDU was an additional guest. DUNDU literally means „you and you“ and thus stands for a great statement in times when togetherness is very important. The light giant amazes people all over the world and is a mighty screen onto which visitors can project their fantasies, dreams and wishes.

Potsdamer Platz was once again transformed into a magnificent Gesamtkunstwerk. Highlights were the oversized light sculptures L.O.V.E. and UNITY as well as the large-scale projections on the Kollhoff and Forum Tower. In Alte Potsdamer Straße, 140 light blossoms adorned the treetops and luminous swans danced a ballet on the Piano Lake.

A unique panorama production including the world’s only „World Championship of Projection Mapping“ on the Kollhoff Tower was one of the festival highlights in 2018. Potsdamer Platz was illuminated with artistic large-scale projections for its 20th anniversary.

Der Potsdamer Platz ist ein urbanes Zentrum für Berlins dynamische Community. Ein Ort voller positiver Energie im Einklang mit globalen und lokalen Kulturentwicklungen. Im Festival zeigten sich insgesamt 11 Lichtkunst-Inszenierungen zum Motto „Urban Nature“. Fünf Meter hohe PEONEYs mit zarten, farbenfrohen Lichtspielen, FLORAISONs, kunstvolle Mohnblumen oder die in der Art des Indian Summer beleuchteten Bäume.

„Creating Tomorrow“ war das übergeordnete Motto aller Installationen am Quartier Potsdamer Platz, welches in großen Lettern über dem Platz prangte. Die Installationen erstreckten sich vom Hauptplatz über die Alte Potsdamer Straße, hin zum Marlene-Dietrich-Platz und Pianosee.

Am Eröffnungswochenende war 2021 zusätzlich der Licht-Riese DUNDU zu Gast. DUNDU bedeutet wörtlich „du und du“ und steht damit für eine große Aussage in Zeiten, in denen das Miteinander mehr als wichtig ist. Der Lichtriese versetzt Menschen auf der ganzen Welt in Erstaunen und ist eine mächtige Lein-wand, auf die Besucher*innen ihre Fantasie, Träume und Wünsche projizieren können.

Der Potsdamer Platz verwandelte sich erneut zum großartigen Gesamtkunstwerk. Highlights waren die überdimensionalen Lichtskulpturen L.O.V.E. und UNITY sowie die großformatigen Projektionen auf dem Kollhoff- und dem Forum Tower. In der Alten Potsdamer Straße zierten 140 Lichterblüten die Baumkronen und auf dem Piano-See tanzten leuchtende Schwäne ein Ballett.

Eine einmalige Panoramainszenierung samt dem weltweit einzigen „World Championship of Projection Mapping“ auf dem Kollhoff-Tower war eines der Festival-Highlights 2018. Der Potsdamer Platz erstrahlte zu seinem 20-jährigen Jubiläum mit kunstvollen Großprojektionen.
