Concert House - Festival of Lights

At the Gendarmenmarkt, the Festival of Lights presented a 3D video mapping on the facade of the Konzerthaus entitled „a symphony that never ends“, which traced the development of sound carriers, among other things. With a tribute to Sony Music’s greatest artists. From classical music to international pop to hip hop, all artists are groundbreaking, visionary and shape the current zeitgeist. Then and now. It’s a rapturous journey through time, from the gramophone to the record player to the long-loved music cassette. Many thanks to the artistic team of MP-STUDIO.

The Greek deities on the columns of the concert hall convey the great gift of music to humanity in a spectacle of light and sound. The transformations within the show led through the centuries and let us participate in the history of music. Beginning with the first opera in this building – Carl Maria von Weber’s „Der Freischütz“ – through gramophone and music cassette to the modern electronic sounds.

Am Gendarmenmarkt präsentierte das Festival of Lights auf der Fassade des Konzerthauses ein 3D Videomapping mit dem Titel „a symphony that never ends“, das u.a die Entwicklung der Tonträger nachzeichnet. Mit einer Hommage an die größten Künstler*innen von Sony Music. Von Klassik über internationalen Pop bis HipHop, alle Künstler*innen sind wegweisend, visionär und prägen den aktuellen Zeitgeist. Damals und heute. Es ist eine rauschhafte Reise durch die Zeit, vom Grammophon über den Plattenspieler bis hin zur so lange beliebten Musik-Kassette. Vielen Dank an das Künstlerteam von MP-STUDIO.

Die griechischen Gottheiten auf den Säulen des Konzerthauses übermitteln der Menschheit in einem Spektakel aus Licht und Klang das große Geschenk der Musik. Die Verwandlungen innerhalb der Show führten durch die Jahrhunderte und ließen an der Geschichte der Musik teilhaben. Beginnend mit der ersten Oper in diesem Gebäude – Carl Maria von Webers „Der Freischütz“ – über Grammophon und Musikkassette bis hin zu den modernen elektronischen Klängen.
