Radiant faces. Glowing eyes. That’s what the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS has stood for every fall since 2005, when Berlin becomes the big shining stage and the monuments, buildings and squares become the stars.
This year, it is perhaps even a bit more important than normal. It was and is a challenging year. All the more reason why we all need moments of joy and happiness. From which we can draw strength. And confidence for the future.
This year in particular, the 2022 motto is as optimistic as the colorful productions: „Vision of our future. Look forward to unusual, touching and inspiring ideas – translated into expressive light art. Works created especially for the FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS 2022.
FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS 2022: Great light art – with significantly less power consumption
We will use less electricity in the festival than ever before. Because, of course, we also take the challenges posed by scarce and expensive energy very seriously. We have changed our program a bit and adapted it to the current situation. Fewer venues, a shortened daily duration and the extensive use of energy-efficient, innovative technology.
And if many people come, we even create a positive energy balance in the end. You will soon find out how this works in our magazine.
